Follow-up on Kellogg's rebate

I missed out on the Kellogg's rebate. I sent the rebate form and UPCs in, and then a few days later I read on the web that the rebate offer expired earlier than the original offering due to high demand. I was very disturbed about this since I had sent in 20 UPCs and missed out on $20. But, last week I received my envelopes back, return to sender. I forgot that I also read that envelopes were being rejected because of a change in address. I still missed out on the $20 rebate, but at least I can hold on to the UPCs for a possible future offer. We'll see.

Foodland Hawaii 4/25 - 5/1 - Nice Deals!

It's been hard for me to keep up with the coupons in any organized type of fashion - probably because I'm not an organized person to start with. But thought I would take a peek at the current Foodland insert (valid 4/25 - 5/1) and see if there was anything shouting out at me.

Cereal Overload

I got to use up my last remaining $5/5 Kelloggs Cereals coupons today. CVS has select Kelloggs cereal on sale for $1.77, which include Raisin Bran, Cornflakes, Rice Krispies, Cocoa Krispies, Apple Jacks, Fruit Loops. First 5 I bought I also used my free milk coupon (buy 3 breakfast items, get a free gallon of milk). I believe that coupon came from the Milk Mustache campaign on Facebook, probably no longer available.

Kelloggs is also running a gas card promotion where you send in the form and 10 UPC codes from select boxes of cereal and they will send you a $10 card good for gas. Basically, with my $5/5 coupons, I got 10 boxes of cereal for free.

So happy I got to use those coupons, they expire today!

Hawaii: Times Supermarkets

What the heck, here's a couple for Times Supermarkets for the current ad (3/7 - 3/13/12)
Reach Toothbrushes, 1.99 -- Coupon: $2/2 Reach Toothbrushes (1 ct)

Country Crock Spread, $4.69 -- Coupon: $1/1 Country Crock Spreads, excludes Honey an Cinnamon Flavored Spreads)

Ouch! Tropicana 59 oz., $3.99 -- This past weekend there was a Pepsi "Moments to Save" insert in the 3/4 Sunday paper. There is a $1 off of 2 Tropicana 59oz. bottles. (I say "Ouch" because Tropicana is expensive, but we are paying "only" $3 for the same bottle here in FL). I just used my coupon to buy 2 bottles at Walmart for $2.97 each, less the $1 on 2. Sorry, no link, you need the paper coupon for this one. Dig it out of the recycle stack!!

FYI: Here's the Times Supermarkets Coupon Policy

Hawaii: Foodland Coupon Policy and a few deals

Just in case you wanted to read up on their coupon policy -- here's the link: Foodland Coupon Policy No competitor coupons, no coupons on the "free" item for BOGO (Buy One Get One)... up to 4 like coupons per transaction. No store coupon & manufacturer coupon stacking allowed either. Oh well!
Bring in your reusable bags when you shop at Foodland, and they knock $0.05 off for each of your own bag that is used. I love that! Target does that also, by the way (make a note to yourself when Target finally opens where good ol Holiday Mart/Daiei/Don Quixote used to be).

Now for some good deals effective for the current flyer:
I did see on their insert that they have an awesome $3 coupon when you buy 3 Kraft cheese items, which is on sale 2/$6, both the bagged shredded and single slice variety. Make sure you cut the coupon out of the ad and take it with you! I think you will also get a nice Catalina coupon from the register when you buy 3 or more Kraft cheese items. No way for me to confirm this, but supposedly:
Buy (3), Get $2.00 OYNO (off your next order)
Buy (4), Get $3.00 OYNO
Buy (5) Get $4.00 OYNO
Here is the link for the Coupon Network by Catalina offer for Kraft

Other note-worthy items that have good coupons:
Stouffers (Banquet) Family Entrees, $3.99 w card - there was a $2.00 manufacturers coupon in the 1/29/12 Red Plum insert - would make this $1.99. You can sign up for coupons on their Facebook page: Stouffer's Facebook page Right now, they have $2.00 off any one Stouffer's Sautes for Two product. Also, when you register they are giving a 0.50 coupon for Pepperidge Farm Frozen Stone Baked Artisan Rolls or Texas Toast. Signing up is going to allow you to get a few coupons over the next few weeks. These are good for the lazy nights, I suppose. I bought a few of the family sized entrees and plan on using them when my husband is out of town and I want to spend more time with the kids than in front of the stove. "Mommy, can you play with me?"...

Silk Coconut Milk, 2/$8 -- $1 any Silk Pure Coconut Milk.
There is also a $1 off Silk Fruit & Protein.

Listerine, $4.49, $1/1 Any Adult Listerine Mouthwash

Robitussin Cold and Cough, $4.99 -- $1.00 off any Robitussin product

FYI, you can print the coupon twice from the same computer.

A final note: Can I just say that I am JEALOUS that you can get a 20lb. bag Hinode rice for just $10.99?? I pay around $18 for a 20lb. bag of Botan rice.

That's all I have for now. Time change is about to hit us, which means instead of it being almost 2am, it's almost 3am. *sigh*

Happy saving, people!

New Feature

See something new on the left hand side? I'm thrilled about it because my newest obsession (truly an obsession) is coupons. This obsession is actually making a difference in our lives. I shop more carefully and pay attention to sales now. My bank account has dwindled down since I was laid off a few years ago, and the kids have been keeping me fairly busy (ha ha), so finding time for this obsession is a challenge and consumes most of my night after they've gone to bed. But it's been so worth it just because of the incredible savings I have seen using coupons and matching them up with hot sales.

I've been nabbing a lot of free items just by watching sales and using the coupons. Not only free... sometimes you make money on items, and the overage carries over to the rest of your purchase. Latest one was using a $1 Reach Dental Floss coupon at Target, where it was priced for $0.97. I've heard that Target adjusts the coupon amount to the actual sale price, but in this case, it was not. So, who knows? I've had good moneymaking deals at Walgreens, but I am coming to hate shopping there since 99.9% of the time my purchase requires management intervention since the registers are troublesome.

Anyway, my family and friends, I'll try to keep you in the loop for some good coupons and some sales that will make it well worth the ink and paper you use to print the coupon. Hang on to your coupon inserts from the newspaper and use them! Or, send them to me, ha ha. When I have the chance, I plan to do a little research on the stores in Hawaii. Figure if I can make one or two good deals for you, you'll see... it's worth it! :-)

Ally McBeal: The Complete Series DVD set

I waited a LONG time for this!! Now, Amazon has Ally McBeal: The Complete Series DVD set for $78.99 today only as part of their Gold Box deal. Grab it now for this price before it's done or gone. I bought mine at Costco a couple of weeks ago for $99. Ouch.

Yay!!!

Pussycat Dolls - Doll Domination

The new Pussycat Dolls album - Doll Domination - is $2.99 at Amazon today. I'm going to get this one for "When I Grow Up", kind of a funny song. Never heard it until Cora pointed it out.

A Deal (if you Like Jay-Z and Miley)

I just love Amazon. Really!!

So, their latest MP3 album deal, which I think is their Saturday deal, is the Jay-Z album, Vol. 3... Life and Times of S. Carter [explicit]. It's ninety-nine cents. Seriously! But, I don't like that kind of music, so... great deal for those that do.

And, for your inner teeny-bopper, part of their Friday Five is Miley Cyrus' album Breakout. $5.00. I haven't bought into the whole Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus thing... so, it's not something I'm going to download.

I'm a little sad that two of my all time favorite bands will be in Orlando this fall. Coldplay and Staind!! But, I'm too cheap to buy the concert tickets. That, and they're in Orlando. Oh well.

September 19, 2008

Amazon's Friday 5

Today's Friday 5 from Amazon has three that I want to get or already have.
Mamma Mia! The Movie Soundtrack
Maroon 5 - It Won't Be Soon Before Long Deluxe Digital Edition
Wilco - Yankee Foxtrot Hotel

And, to round out the five, they also have Husker Du (Zen Arcade) and El-P (I'll Sleep When You're Dead. Never heard any Husker Du songs before, and never heard of El-P. I already have the Wilco and Maroon 5 albums, but may get the Mamma Mia album. These are going for $5 a piece until Monday.

Happy Aloha Friday!

MP3 Deals!

Here's a non-political post. Yay.

Amazon daily mp3 deal is a Kiss album Greatest Kiss for $1.99. Also, if you're quick enough, they might still have the Death Cab for Cutie album We Have the Facts and We're Voting Yes album for $1.99. I just bought both! I love getting albums for the price of an iTunes video. Ha ha.

Amazon MP3 Daily Special: Etta James "At Last"

Amazon is doing a fabulous job with their MP3 Download specials. They had Talking Heads the other day, but I chose to pass on that one. Today, I didn't pass. The special is the Etta James "At Last" for $1.99!! I'm going to make it a habit of checking their site for the daily download special.

Shania Album Download

Here we go again! This one I am pretty excited about, because I LOVE this album. Great price for a fabulous album: Shania Twain's "Come On Over", DRM-Free for only $2.99!

Jason Mraz Album Download

Wow. Amazon has the Jason Mraz "We Sing. We Dance. We Steal." album available for download for $3.99 today. DRM-Free (meaning, all yours, burn as many times as you like, unlike iTunes). I'm going to have to get it. It has that "I'm Yours" song on it.

eToys - Thomas BOGO offer!

Got this offer in my email today from eToys. Buy one Thomas the Tank Engine item, get another one FREE. Offer expires 03/10/08.

eToys: Buy One, Get One FREE on Select Thomas & Friends Items (ends 3.10)

Billy just LOVES Thomas now. We have this folding foam "couch" with Thomas on it, and he goes into his non-functional bedroom to say an enthusiastic "Hi!!!!!!" to Thomas. Too cute, I must get that on video. And, although Billy definitely has way too many toys (though probably not as many as C-man... but, C-man has a year on Billy), I am going to have to check the BOGO Thomas sale.

Gaiam - Eww, Ooh, Neat, Cool! (Coupon Code, too)

Ok. I just wrote and entry and blew it away when I clicked on a link I didn't mean to click on. Grr!

Anyhow, I ran across this website, Gaiam.com that had a few items I thought was worth a mention here.

Toilet Lid Sink - First thought? Ewwww!! Second thought? Ewwww!!! But, how brilliant! I wonder how many of these they sell.

Opal Soap Rock - this is beautiful!

Moonphase Clock - very interesting clock. Thought of sis.

Crystal Salt Lamp - I don't get how this works, doesn't say if there's a bulb in there or what. Pretty, and interesting too. If I was a rich (wo)man, I'd buy this just to check it out.

Oh well. I made a purchase since there was free shipping on orders over $40 (coupon code AFJD), but didn't get any of the items above. I'd love to tell what I got, but it's a secret ya know.

I do love this site. Never heard of it before, but very cool.

If I Were A Rich (Wo)Man...

I just love Amazon. Seriously. Here are the great deals I stumbled on while waiting for Bill to get home from CA.

Lord of the Rings TRILOGY, all THREE! $17.99 -- If I didn't already have all three, I'd buy it.

The Exorcist, the Complete Anthology, sale price is $18.49! Six discs for your marathon viewing pleasure. (Not me, I'm a wuss these days.)

Pokemon Movie Collection... for the kid (or the kid in you)! This has 3 discs.

Smallville and Veronica Mars are still $14.99 for most of the seasons. There are just too many to list. Check it out yourself, you'll probably find something you've been wanting. Amazon's Big DVD Sale

December 11, 2007

Free Music

This may very well be the worst preview for a song ever. After listening to the clip, my face was so scrunched up. Wow. The song is free from Amazon, though after listening to the clip, they couldn't pay me to download it.

The nice thing is that Dashboard Confessional and KT Tunstall have free downloads too. There's even some Sophie Milman for Cora. I downloaded the KT Tunstall Drastic Fantastic album after listening to the clips, and I really love most of the album. It was only $5.99!

December 05, 2007

Eye Clops

I have been looking at the Jakks EyeClops Bionic Eye for Marcus and it's been priced at $49.99, then $44.99. Well... Guess what?! It's now $29.99! I think this might be pretty fun...

[edit: Well... it might be fun, except it doesn't have free super saver shipping, and, they must have just raised the price - it's now $34.99...]

December 02, 2007

Veronica Mars DVDs

Amazon has Veronica Mars Season One and Veronica Mars Season Two DVDs currently for $14.99 each!!

I just found out that the last disc that I watched, which was disc 5, actually had the last episode of the series on it. I'm so disappointed. I was expecting disc 6 to have at least 2 more episodes on it. *sigh*

Another wonderful series bites the dust.

November 26, 2007

Amazon's Daily Special: BUFFY

If Cora didn't already have all the dvds, I'd say this was a great buy for her... Amazon has a box set of the Buffy dvds for $94.99, and free super saver shipping! I'd get it for myself, except I already have all the seasons except the last one. Oh well. Maybe someone else is interested.

[edit Dec 1, 07: Sale ended - you snooze, you lose!]

November 20, 2007

Smallville Season DVDs - Price Alert!

I LOVE Smallville - You know I love to despise Lana, and season 7 has been pretty interesting so far even though some of the more interesting characters have gone away. The seasons have been getting progressively stranger. Some ways good, some not so much. Anyway, back to my point here.

So, check this out. Amazon has the first 5 seasons at a really excellent price. Maybe it's comparable to local stores, but not sure. Great time to complete your collection, I guess. Current prices for seasons 1, 2, 4, and 5 are $14.99!!! Seasons 3 is $23.99 (dunno, don't ask me), and Season 6 is $38.99.

Smallville - The Complete First Season | Smallville - The Complete Second Season | Smallville - The Complete Third Season | Smallville - The Complete Fourth Season | Smallville - The Complete Fifth Season | Smallville - The Complete Sixth Season
