Girl's Day
Life sort of happens and we get lost in the endless stream of work drudgery, family necessities and other events that rob us of much needed quality “me” time. Since the dawn of e-Musson (the first of our next generation), the amount of “we” time has dwindled down to a few scant hours a year. We have been fortunate enough that we have families that love our bambino enough to give us a few hours of freedom to find ourselves every so often. Thanks to our babysitters, Sunday was spent in the company of our nearest and dearest friends: Me, Musson, Trini, KK, & Rachel (minus Chris who is now in LV). It was a much-needed vacation from the daily grind of life.
When we get together for our “girl’s days,” it’s as if no time has passed. I realize that these are not the same women I knew decades ago. These women have careers, stretch marks (sorry ladies), mortgages, life insurance, and their own families. By all laws of nature and civilization we are adults, but give us a few hours of alone time and I see the youthfulness return. Though our tastes have changed from McDonald’s to Sam Choy’s and our shopping has gone from Contempo Casuals to Macy’s and Nordstrom (I love their shoes!!!), the friendship we have has endured and strengthened over the years. I realize how lucky I am to call these people my friends. I enjoy all of the quirks and idiosyncrasies that make them who they are. I appreciate the collective wisdom, humor, advice, and support that each of them offers.
As the day progressed, we felt relaxed and the stresses of every day life were washed away. It is always a cathartic process for me. When I return home, I feel rejuvenated and ready to enjoy the normalcy of life.
My mood: relaxed

Retail Therapy:
So we checked out the new Nordstrom wing at Ala Moana, I would so kill for a shopping spree to Nordstrom. I’d blow it all on shoes. There were at least 5 pairs that were amazing. Two were kind of normal work-type shoes, one was chocolate and the other navy and they were about $100 each. The third I called hooker shoes ($120). Fourth was not too expensive, but I don’t have anywhere to go in them ($350) and the last one was gorgeous and bright (it had huge shiny balls on them) and cost $1,100. I don’t think I’ve ever tried on anything so expensive before (on my feet). It was fun. Sis, you’d be shocked at the changes in the mall with the new wing and added stores. They’re bringing in a Brighton in the summer. Crap. There goes all my money. I love their jewelry and accessories…
